User Experience
CHALLENGES
The goal of the Anywhere app was to allow users to untether their phone number from their phones
experience goals
We wanted to keep the native feel that users were used to when receiving calls or texts on their smart phone. Users stated their biggest concerns where getting notified appropriately on desktop environment
Responsibilities
User experience strategy, stake holder Interviews, competitive analysis, system diagrams, wireframes, ui design, prototyping, usability testing.
Mobile App
LEARNINGS
Due to technical limitations related to how android secures their internal databases for sms & mms, we could only access these messages if we asked for a specific permission during installation of our own app. Therefore, we had to create a mobile app of our own.

Messaging apps are deceptively complex from a technical standpoint, so we choose to fork the native Messenger app and and re-skinned it with our brand and other design patterns from the desktop app.
Tablet App
LEARNINGS
Do to the specific requirements of a tablet needing to work in portrait and landscape mode, we needed to overhaul the structure of the app. We found a design pattern that worked for both ios and android.

Users liked this layout on the tablet so much they asked us to have this mode within the desktop app as well.
Desktop Calling
LEARNINGS
The first round of designs for the desktop incoming call screen tried to integrate the calling interface into the desktop app. But the complexity that it created when switching conversation with an ongoing call made the concept unworkable. Our solution was just to launch a modal separate from the messaging ui.
